The Contract Administration Crash Course December 12th-13th is a 2-day intensive workshop designed for students preparing specifically for the Contract Administration portion of the Florida General Contractor exam. This instructor-led session focuses on essential exam topics, methods, code navigation, and real-world application.
Students learn how to effectively use their reference books, how to break down exam questions, and how to select the correct answers under timed conditions.
Workshop Topics Include:
- Reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and codes
- Construction estimating (labor, material, equipment, overhead, profit)
- Bidding methods: lump sum, unit price, cost-plus, GMP
- Contract documents, general & special conditions
- Change orders, payment applications, schedule of values
- Liens, retainage, releases, warranties, and contract closeout
- Florida Statutes (FS 489, FS 558), permits, inspections, approvals
